Delivery

So, my delivery story is one to share. I was on and off contracting for almost 2 weeks. Finally, the day came which I thought was "the day". I was timing my contractions, they were getting closer together but I was not going to be embarrassed by going to triage and getting sent home again, so I decided I would go when I was 2-4 minutes apart. Well, when I got to about 5 minutes, my sister came up to stay with the girls. Then I went to the bathroom after laboring all day. After I came out. I said to Ty, " we need to go right now!!!" Some friends came right as the words were coming out of my mouth. Ty was thinking we have a few more minutes. WRONG!! In my nicest most composed attitude, I gathered myself together. We finally got in the car and after a few minutes, my water broke in the Jetta. At this point, I was freaking out a little and suddenly, the urge to push was so strong. I knew if I didn't make it to the hospital right away, I would have the baby in the car. So, Ty is flying down the street, 911 on the phone and Im focusing on breathing steadily, and not crashing. We made it to the E.R. where (long story short) Kendall arrived after 3 pushes. From the time I left home to delivery (about 20 minutes). Yaaa! Kendall Sky is Here!!

So, I wanted to share 2 new things about Hannah this week. First of all, she actually bore her testimony on Sunday. She asked me what a testimony was (which I've explained many times) and I told her it was the things she felt were true in her heart. At this point I'm getting nervous because I'm not ready for her to go up and say something embarrasing. But who am I to neglect a child the opportunity to share her most precious thoughts. She told me she was really nervous. I told her she can share her thoughts when she is older and not so nervous. Then she just gets up. I had no idea what she was going to say. So she says what only Hannah can say. " My name is Hannah, I know the missionaries are true. I know Jesus is true. I love my sister, my mom and my dad. Amen." This brought a smile to my heart!

So, Hannah started Kindergarden this morning. In fact, she is still there. I miss her already. Our house is quiet when she is away. But she is soo overly ready. She loves to learn. Hopefully as parents ,we have given her the necessary tools to be successful and faithful. Here are a few pictures from her 1st day!!

So, I've totally neglected our family blog. I've decided to be better about this now. Here is a recap. Still pregnant. 27.5 weeks to be exact. We are having a girl! I guess Heavenly Father has decided we are not done having children and we are totally ok with this. We haven't decided on a name yet but I have a few in mind. It's hard when everyone has an opinion on the name so I will save it till the very end.
Also, we did a ton of vacationing. I would say too much. At least it feels this way because I am still pregnant and can't sit on a plane forever. We visited family in Ohio which is always nice. We wouldn't mind moving back there. I think it is absolutely beautiful there. Maybe one day we will. We did a few lake trips- some with family, some with friends. Lake Mohave is a nice lake that accomodates our family well. That's the nice part of having a boat.
Heather and Cody Hokanson have been lifesavers for us during our vacationing so THANKS.

So, I love vacation time. It totally reunites us and gives us a break from life. Some of our trips may or may not include, Havasu lake trip- always fun, Lake Powell for 4th of July, and Ohio in August. Yeah!!

So, in case you haven't heard. We are expecting another little one. Due date is November 26th. Im 11 weeks and I've been a total crazy person. List of things: 1. chopped my hair= pure hormonal decision, 2: let my brother take care of Charly- I know, crazy, 3: Puked my guts out, 4: not answered calls-although that usually happens when Im not pregnant, and 5: pinched my nose every time I walked into the kitchen. 6: completely stopped all forms of exercise and changed my diet to weird foods. I've been a crazy person but I think the worst is over. Im beginning to feel stable, nicer, happier and the nice weather is helping. Last night, I thought I could feel my hip bones moving- could have been in my mind though.

So, decided to throw myself a Party. There seems to be a Disney in us all. Alice in Wonderland themed with heart shaped sandwiches, goofy games, and HATS galore. Good times with good friends.

Ohio 2010

So we just got back from another adventure in Ohio. We love it there. We got to enjoy Kip and Amy's wedding (Ty's brother), spent some time in Columbus -little California, and got to see lots of family. The weather was so nice, the leaves were changing colors and we got to take pictures- with my camera this time!! We got to enjoy a really cool farm with exotic animals. Most importantly, got to be with family and catch up.

So, our family along with extended family on all sides took a vacation trip to Cancun, Mexico. We were the first family to explore this uniquely humid and hot place.
Pros: all inclusive, eat whenever you want, huge pools, beach at walking and running distance, kids shows and parent shows, daytime activities, exotic animals running wild at your feet ( maybe this is a con) and family doing activities and getting sun right by your side.
Cons: hot and humid, bug bites, crazy taxi guys- can't really trust them, too much skin showing everywhere you look, sunburns, too much food, etc.
Overall, we did enjoy ourselves. I actually got ride of my farmers tan- it wasn't that bad to begin with. Pictures to come!

So, I have decided to move on with my life and let facebook go. After much thought, I've settled with the idea that it should be called bragbook. I don't think it is a bad thing. In fact, I have reconnected with old friends but I hate being associated with a fad that is silly and in some ways pointless. I've decided that if anyone wants to talk to me, they can call me or email me or send me a letter in the mail. Anyways, Ty is not ready to let it go yet because he uses my account to play his lame farmville but it feels nice not having to have my life dictated by aimless comments of others. Like I said, I don't mean to offend facebook users but seriously people- aren't there better things to do with our lives!!!

Palm Springs

So after we had our family vacation, Ty and I were able to enjoy 2 days in Palm Springs. We got to enjoy the farmers market as they close down a whole street and vendors sell weird and interesting items, Golfing at Taquitz Creek, the famous rotating Aireal tram, and our fansy shmansy hotel. Ty miraculously found us a great deal through hotels.com and it was the nicest hotel we've ever been to. It is the Riviera. Here are some night pictures- sorry they are so grainy but in order to not us the flash we had to use the high sensitivity feature. A very much needed vacation. So what are the odds that Ty's golf ball almost decapitates me- 99%. Word to the wise, don't ever be in front of a golfer even if you think they can't hit you. long story!! Close call. But overall had a great time.

So the girls have been looking forward to Disneyland for a long time. We we able to do the 2fer and do California Adventure and Disney. The girls had so much fun and our little motel was walking distance to the park. This is truly the best way. Whenever the girls got tired, we just walked back to the hotel for a short break and then walked back for more. Hannah surprised me with her adventurous side. She was just tall enough for splash mountain and Big thunder mountain railroad which she road twice. Our little girls are growing up. Here are some pictures.

So I have been driving all over palmdale and lancaster- trust me not by choice. Life just got busy. It all started with Ty wanting to revamp my old violin. He actually wants to learn and take lessons! Hurray! SHHHH- he doesn't want anyone to know-he thinks he'll get made fun of. Are you kidding me- I think anyone that can play the violin if freakin awesome. Anyway, Can everything stop being so far away and in the opposite parts of town????!!!!

So Ty has been in a panic about Emergency preparedness. I guess with the whole Haiti earthquake I had never envisioned how hectic it would get when people are fighting for basic necessesities. I took this rainy day to devote our closet to emergency stuff. I labeled everything, did the FIFO method on our water, gathered all flashlights and batteries, put our hygience stuff together and now I feel really good about our family preparedness. Plus we have a bunch of food coming in from the storehouse soon. Ty is afraid people are gonna raid us so he is persistant about getting a gun. I keep telling him our b-b gun will do just fine. haha. Anyway, our lamps are full and we have more oil to refill. I love this feeling. So, for anyone that knows us, we got the toyota FJ cruiser a few years ago. It was fun while it lasted. There were a few things we hated about the car, example: 1 small windshield, 2 even smaller back windows, 3 windshield wipers ???. etc.. Anyways, we have been talking about trying to sell this car for like seriously a year but have never gotten around to taking pictures and listing it. Finally, Ty took pictures and listed it on Craigslist. It sold within 24 hours of being listed. Looks like we get another car since Im afraid of Ty riding his motorcycle to work. Options include A= Toyota prius, B=Honda civic, C= Jetta diesel TDI. We shall see!!!

So I am currently reading The Tenant of Wildfell Hall-By Anne Bronte of the Bronte sisters. Interesting drama. Its about a widow and her son and her crazy past she hides. We discover how her marriage failed and why she is the way she is. Actually, this book makes me really thankful to my husband for being who he is and makes me realize I have much that Im grateful for. I'm in love with my husband!!!

Meet our newest addition to the family. Rocco Choco Meyers. Great Dane! Ahhh. We never thought about getting another dog, nonetheless a great dane, but after much research and a pup that melts your heart, we ended up with a good guard dog. Long story but sweet charly is by no means a guard dog and with Ty now having to work midnights, we wanted something that will protect our family, not hide under Lauren's bed. We ended with a boy dog because it is the one thing you can chose the gender of. We love him!!

Ohio Vacation

July Swim-a-thon

So I am not much of a swimmer but this was a fun experience.

We split up into 2 teams. Ileana, Eric, and Carol were the 1st team and Cody, Ileana's coworker (forgot her name) and I were on the other team. The 1st person swam 250 meters, the 2nd person ran a mile and the last person swam the last 250 meters. I got to swim the last 250 meters. My time was Under 5 minutes 4:52. NOt bad!!

Ok guys, so my sister and I are adamant about completing our first ragnar relay. We have about 7 people pretty willing to run it with us. We need 12 people to make a complete team so we're more than half way there. The race is October 9th and 10th across Las Vegas.

So Thursday morning, I was so excited to rake up some trash and yucky dirt so our garden would look like a garden. I started to put all the trash in the large greenwaste bin but then realized it was to heavy for me to roll to the street. I started to empty out the bin just enough for me to roll it out to the street. It wasn't like but it wasn't unbearable either. Then as I was tilting it to roll it on the wheels, the weight was too much and the whole trash can feel on me-pinching my left leg underneath. I instantly started freaking out! The trash can was so heavy I couldn't lift it for nothing. I was screaming HELP, HELP and no one came for me. I panicked even more! There came a point where I knew no one would come! I started digging out the dirt with my hands to lessen the weight (mind you the freakin shovel was also cutting into my knee). I still couldn't lift the trash can even after I took some weight out. Then, I decided to pull my leg out. Thankfully, my foot slide out of my shoe and I was finally able to pull my leg out. I was then shaking uncontrollable thinking for sure I had broken my leg. To make a long story short, it turns out nothing is broken, but I may have ligament and muscle damage. I'm in a knee brace and a granny cane!! I hope to be up and running soon!!!

So, Ty and I went to the Gaslamp district in San Diego last Thursday and stayed till Saturday in time for conference. We had great food-Ive probably gained 10 pounds off of it, took a horse chariot ride through the city, watched Valkerie in our hotel, had the best pancakes, went sport fishing and caught me some lunkers while poor ty was barfing out his life -sea sick. I'm too lazy to post pictures right now but I will soon enough.

So, my sister was telling me about a warning to all females. Supposedly on March 19th, there is a gang innitiation to shoot 3 women at a walmart. She said the news confirmed this to be true and that we don't know which walmart this will take place. BE AWARE! I don't know how true this all is but I aint going- I went yesterday. AHHH!

birds and blooms/kidney stones?

Well, something good always comes from a bad situation. Ty had to work a midnight shift so he got home around 6 this morning. He napped for a while and woke up with the worst pain ever. Apparently he had a 3mm stone in his kidney and poor ty was in so much pain. I felt so bad for him. So, at the hospital practically all morning I came across a magazine called "Birds and Blooms" and they had the cutest bird houses ever. Now I'm determined to build my own and have these sweet critters come to the house. I hope in this declining housing market even if 1 bird came to my birdhouse that would be exciting.

WHAT. what are we doing at a retirement community you ask?? Well, there was a mix up when I told my mom Silverwood Lake. But it was nice to be with family.

Latin Night

Well, Friday night we had a Party to celebrate the return of Eric Disparte (my friend Ileana's Hubby). It was a ton of fun. We had about 35 people, carne asada, beans, rice, the whole sha-bang!! After dinner, we had a dance instructor teach about 25 couples to salsa dance. We all rotated partners and learned 3 basic moves. This was fun! Then we all played Mafia. We played this for hours. We all didn't get to bed till 11:30. Talk about the good times. We all had a blast and for the second time, Ty actually danced. This is a memorable event in the Meyers home as dancing is not Ty's thing but because it was an organized event, I could tell he enjoyed himself.

It was so nice to be rejuvinated by Sis. Julie Beck. I hadn't realized how humorous she is. She is a great teacher and what I enjoyed most about the evening is that all her words were true words of wisdom. I felt the spirit strongly testify to me about my true calling in this world. Man, we can really get caught up in the hustle and bustle of life. How easy it can be to loose focus or get distracted especially with our young kids. I appreciate her counsel and the counsel of sweet Bro. Teny (i think thats how you spell it.) Plus, it was nice to see old friends and have a girls nite out! Cheers to the good women of the world.

A new hairdu??

Well, in case most of you don't know, I chopped my hair about 3 weeks ago. I'm still getting used to it. It was definitely not what I wanted but for the 1st time in 3 weeks, it loved it. It was tossled and crazy and plain fun. My hair always grows fast so Im not too worried about it. The fun part is that I believe now more than ever that everyone is entitled to 1 bad haircut in this lifetime. Im glad my is overwith. hahaha! Here's a Pix. I love this picture because I was so mad about this hair. Its hard to purposefully take a picture and not smile. It takes a ton of brain power to go against the natural reaction to smile.

So for Christmas Ty got us some quads. They are pretty fun and exciting I must say. It was a bit tricky learning the gears but going out in the dirt and going over "woopdydoos" was a ton of fun. I went out last week with the boys and I felt like a total tomboy. Of course I had to get a cute helmet and google and gloves. We went out in Rosamond and had a blast. I'll post pictures of quad and me in my cute gear. Anyways, its nice to go out for a few hours with my husband and ride around in the dirt and mud. I must say the last time I intentionally stepped in mud I was like 5 years old and now Im purposefully trying to floor it through mud. HAHAHA!

Christmas in Ohio

We just got back from our Christmas vacation in Ohio. We spent time with Ty's family and had a relaxing vacation. It snowed practically everyday except for Christmas. Our girls got spoiled this year. Although it was my first Christmas in Ohio, I hope next year we can plan to celebrate Christmas in Hawaii or an island with our family. I have felt the spirit of Christ in my life this season so overwhelmingly strong that the best way to describe it is as though his love is flowing through my veins. I know its a weird analogy but It it very empowering.

Well, I can't believe it's been over a year since I started up my photography business. Its been so much fun getting to be a business owner, photographer, graphic designer, and more excitingly, the chance to travel and shoot. I love what I do. Its a blessing that I can more importantly still be a wife and mother. I enjoy photography and studying the art behind other photographers. I love the feeling of finding an old beat up fence and making a great picture out of it. Go team meyers!!! Cheeers to another year of successful weddings, seniors, and family pictures!!

So I thought I would give you guys another funny story.
Well It was Sunday afternoon, and we were getting bored to we decided to go for a drive and take pictures. We were on our way through bouquet canyon when we notice a red suv stuck in the mud. Ty immediately knew it was the Haughtons. So we pull over to check things out. They were stuck pretty deep in the mud. So we offer to help pull them out. ( Mind you we were so bored this was like one of the most exciting parts of the afternoon). Ryan tells us quote, "well, I don't want to mess up your plans". We were just laughing at that because He was concerned about our plans and we were concerned about how in the world we were gonna pull them out. Well, after a failed attempt to pull them out with our truck, we drive home to get the FJ. Of course this car should solve the problem. Ty is now driving the FJ and I'm following in the truck. So we get back to them and by now there is another truck and a monster jeep waiting to help. While I sat and waited, this thought crossed my mind. "All these guys are gonna try and show off their cars to see which one can pull them out." Well, I monster jeep guy wanted money to pull the Haughtons out ( what a jerk) so after another failed attempt with the FJ ( the Haughtons were pretty deep, could have happend to anyone) the other truck and the FJ toghether pulled them out. That was a pretty exciting day for us. Hopefully, I didn't embarass you guys (Haughtons)

Thanksgiving

So, I hosted Thanksgiving this year. It actually went well despite my crazy family. No fights broke out and almost all the food was eaten. Wow, I can't believe that holiday came and left so quickly. Now, we're looking forward to Christmas. I just bought my girls their first Christmas story book (baby Jesus) as Hannah likes to point out. It's actually nice to think this amazing event took place a long long time ago.
I wanted to take this time to list the many things I'm thankful for
In no particular order( I've always wanted to say that)
10. My big house (its about time)
9. Anaverde Ward (for the great lifelong friends we found)
8. My new hair stylist (helps to keep me looking alright)
7. Dora the Explorer( for her spanish skills and her ability to keep hannah and lauren occupied for a while)
6. Charly our beagle ( she's a great listener. She never judges me)
5. My great Husband ( like I said, no particular order. He loves me no matter how many times my dinner sucks, or how the folded laundry has a hard time finding its way back to their drawers. He puts up with me just the same and I'm thankful for his humor. He still makes me laugh. I'm really proud of him too. I guess I can embarrass him a little but I'm glad to be the wife of an Air Traffic Controller. I'm always bragging about him because quote, "I'm only as good as I say I am" words of my fellow friend-Will Smith. HAHA.
4. Hannah ( She is the very being of Ty and I. I love how she looks at life, so simply and so importantly.
3. Lauren ( I call her my little sunshine. I mean, she was practically smiling as she came out. She is so independent and very mature for her age too.
2. My cell phone ( always has been by my side-literally)
1. A good book. ( there something about a good book that takes me away from reality if only for a while.)

Fall and Winter Explosion

Okay, so I decide to decorate my house with Christmas stuff. I know its a bit early but since we are going to Ohio for Christmas, that like a whole week that I won't see my house and Christmas stuff. SO, I put up our lovely tree, mixed and matched fall colors and now my house looks like Fall and Winter exploded all over the place. Anyways, it was fun to make my own wreaths and have Hannah collect pinecones from our trees outside. Color just makes me happy!! Plus, I kinda volunteered my house for Thanksgiving. It feels warm and fuzzy now!!!

Wow, I can't believe we made it- house hunting and house buying and 1 million papers to sign paid off. We got the keys to our dream house on Friday, August 22nd. We are ripping out the old baseboards, putting in new boards, new carpet, new paint and tiling the bathrooms- ty's handy work. We are so blessed we came upon this house. It was a good time and good price for us. I wish my dad could have seen it! I know he would have said, "Its a diamond in the rough". Anyways, we are very excited to move in this upcoming Friday. To our ANAVERDE family, we will miss you. To our new ward family, get ready for the crazy wild family with the roudy kids in church!!! hahaha!

Well this month has been an exciting one. Its the one where we buy our first house!! We have been searching for the perfect house for months. I'm excited we've finally found the one. "This one is a diamond in the rough", as my dad used to say. We were able to negotiate to a great deal. Here are some pictures of the house. I'll have to show you after pictures so you can see the difference to how we'd like it. Enjoy!!

Well, we just got news that the owner of our home is selling this property. It was out of the blue but his realtor came over and took a bunch of pictures so she could list the property. I feel like they are intruding even though we are just renting. On a lighter note, we might be getting our first home. We put in an offer on a home in Palmdale-hopefully we'll get it.

On Friday June 13th, 2008 my father passed away. This was a shock to me and my family. He was found in the pool of his home. No one really knows how this happened but I trust that investigators and proffesionals will do their job and the truth will come out. It is an indescribable feeling because I know everyone has to die one day but we just don't know when. I'm going through a rollercoaster of emotions and i've never been so tired. I appreciate all the calls and messages of love and comfort. For those of you who didn't know my father. He was a good man. Full of life, energy and a revolutionary. He was a man of many words and the most important lessons he taught me, Double check everything, and be early to everything. I miss him so much. I wish I could have spent more time with him these last couple of years. I know we will meet again. Till then, I hope he is watching over me and my family and that I will feel his love for the rest of my life. God be with you till we meet again!!!!

We just got back from our trip to Ohio. We were able to visit with family and friends. We threw Ty a surprise birthday party, but I think he knew it was coming. Also, we went to a Baseball game and had front row seats-nice. It was just nice to kick back and enjoy the beauty of Ohio.

Hearst Castle & Pebble Beach

Ty and I were able to get away for the weekend. We rented a corvette( Ty's dream car) and drove up the coast. We went to Hearst castle and took the night tour-really cool this time. Then we stayed at Ragged Point. The next day we went to the shops in Monterey Bay and drove the 17-mile drive at sunset. California is so Beautiful!

We had a workshop on flowers at the Lancaster Photographers Association. It was an interesting class on macro photography. Although the equipment I have is pretty good, there are special lenses made especially for close up photography. Maybe I'll get my hands on 1!

Here we are in the heart of Bouquet Canyon. So we attempted some shoots with 1-Hannah who hates the camera, 2-baby who always looks in another direction, 3-Me running back and forth on the camera's timer mode, and 4-pretty cold weather. Not too shabby!!!! This was a fun shoot nonetheless. Enjoy!!
